Paula Boast is a Partner with Trowers & Hamlins, leading the projects and construction team in Bahrain where she has been working for 8 years.
She has broad experience across the Middle East region, also working in Oman and Qatar. Her experience crosses both contentious and non-contentious aspects of projects, construction and engineering law.
Paula drafts international standard FIDIC and bespoke project, development, construction and engineering contract documents for a range of clients including funders, developers, contractors, subcontractors, project specialists, consultants and supply chain for all manner of project sectors – healthcare, leisure, residential, luxury developments, mixed use, ITC, commercial, government and public sector projects included.
She is responsible for drafting the Bahrain Ministry of Works Conditions of Contract Suite 2009 Edition (in 4 volumes).
Paula is a respected and experienced litigator, arbitrator and mediator and often sits as an expert in determinations and on panels. Her experience crosses both localised and international standard actions with a focus on early resolution.
Paula is the Head of the Bahrain British Business Forum's Special Interest Groups including legal and construction. She is the Bahrain Coordinator for the Society of Construction Law (Gulf), having previously sat on the SCL UK Council.
